OCZ Unveils the PC2-9200 FlexXLC Modules - The World’s Fastest Memory

OCZ Technology Group, a worldwide leader in innovative, ultra-high performance and high reliability memory, today unveiled the OCZ PC2-9200 FlexXLC 2x1GB Kit, a revolutionary new memory solution that offers unprecedented speed, signal integrity, and thermal management. These new modules feature the new OCZ FlexXLC heatsink that delivers superior heat dissipation via a hybrid copper and aluminum design alterable between passive air or water cooling. As the World's fastest DDR2, the PC2-9200, in combination with the innovative FlexXLC technology, is considerably the most ground-breaking and unique memory product existing today.

Thanks to OCZ's FlexXLC (Xtreme Liquid Convention) heat management solution, the OCZ PC2-9200 operates at extreme speeds of 1150MHz without the high temperatures that inhibit or damage the module's ICs. The FlexXLC module was engineered with a unique "flexible" design which gives enthusiasts the option to run the modules passively or water cooled via the integrated liquid injection system. The concurrent use of both technologies (water-cooling) promotes maximum heat dissipation.

Siemens Hidden Treasure - An Ultra-Large Computer Monitor

We have in the past, told you about some awesome multipanel displays including Zenview’s monstrous monitor series, Athens Multi-Panel LCD Displays, Radius 320 Seamless LCD Display and some huge single displays as well…so when we spotted this ultra-large Siemens computer monitor over at Neaotrama, we just could not resist including this in our continued discussion over large screen monitors here at BornRich. Though, not much information about this huge display can be had, except that it’s made from 8 LCDs. But, isn’t that commendable…eight screens merged so beautifully to reveal a seamless display! No word on the price and any other technical spec…but will keep you posted!!

Asus Xonar D2X Sound Card

uru3D listens to sounds. “……Fashionably late .. two things nice about coming late to the party is that you know what everybody’s wearing and everybody notices your arrival. The Asus Xonar D2X is a high-end sound card is without equal for your enthusiast-level PC. Behold its over-the-top looks, marvel at its no-holds-barred features and be captivated by the sound it produces.

The D2X isn’t for everyone, it’s expensive, it’s a showboat and it wants power. But, it is without equal. You may find better, but certainly not an equal.
It took all of 5 seconds of listening to the Xonar D2X to know that it is our new reference sound card.  This unseats the Auzentech X-Fi Prelude at the high end (not that we really keep track of these things) as our favorite all-around card to game, listen to music and watch movies with.  Well done.  As always, though, with bad recordings or low bit-rate MP3, the D2X is merciless in revealing flaws. This is high-def audio folks…..”.

LG HT762TZ: DVD upscaler, 5.1 surround and boozy speakers

Some time ago we reviewed an LG home cinema system, which wowed us with its low cost and high performance. So when LG offered to send us its new HT762TZ 5.1 system, with a built-in DVD player and the added bonus of some stylish Champagne-flute speakers, we were understandably excited.
As we've said many times, in countless reviews, flat-panel TVs often let themselves down with poor-quality sound, so adding a surround-sound system--or at least a 2.1 system--is a very good idea, especially if you're a movie fan. One of the things we loved about LG's previous all-in-one system was that it offered great performance for a very reasonable price. The HT762TZ comes in at around 400 pounds ($792), which puts it about 100 pounds more expensive than the HT902TB, but it does add upscaling to 1080p and a much sleeker design.
You get six speakers, including four satellites for front and rear effects, a center speaker designed to accurately convey dialog and a subwoofer that's designed to blow your trousers off. The main unit, which includes the DVD player, also decodes surround sound from external sources and is capable of upscaling DVDs to 1080p--with the usual caveat that upscaling won't polish a turd.
At the rear of the unit you get HDMI out, for delivering the upscaled video to your TV. Component, composite and Scart outputs are there too, providing support for people who don't have HD TVs yet, or those of us who have run out of HDMI sockets. You get optical audio in, for connecting external sources too, such as an Xbox 360 or Blu-ray player.
The HT762TZ also supports DivX playback from DVD or USB memory stick, a feature that will appeal to people who occasionally download video from the Internet. You also get a built-in FM/AM radio with RDS, and according to LG, 700W of power (100W to the satellite speakers and centre channel and 200W to the sub).
The system was released on Asian markets a few months back. But now we've set the HT762TZ up in our own test area, so expect a full review soon.

17 Cool Speakers Designs that Look Better than They Sound

Home audio speakers are designed to sound great, but many designers take it to the next level and create something so sexy that people can’t help but stare. They know what they do, because in these days a product that looks good has better chances to be sold. These creative speaker designs that you’re gonna see in this post combine both style and (hopefully) function, and we can say that they look better than they sound. :)

These speakers are simply called Speak-er, and for now they are just a very interesting “speak bubble shaped speakers” concept from Sherwood Forlee. This designer has on his page a sentence that I totally adore : “Sherwood Forlee is a designer with no design or art education.” I love this sentence because this is another proof that of a very creative product, without spending years studying. In these days with all the informations available on the internet you can learn anything and master it if you really want.

Samsung printer vision - MFP solution

“Samsung’s ability to control core hardware and software development, time to market, and manufacturing process, provides Samsung with a distinct flexibility advantage to create monochrome and new color MFP solutions in the business printing environment. Sony Adds Compact Photo Printers

Sauntering off its production lines this week are the DPP-FP55 and DPP-FP35, both miniscule(175 x 137 x 60mm), light (1kg) dye sublimation pranksters capable of churning out shots in just over a minute whether via PC, memory card or PictBridge.

Their tomfoolery shows no sign of abating either with three dye – cyan, magenta and yellow – print technology producing 256 individual shades for each tone which apparently creates, using maths beyond my level, 16.7m distinct colours for each pixel. Radical. A (slam in relevant proprietary technology here) ‘SuperCoat 2’ laminate then seals each photo and claims to protect them from fading as well as making them water, heat and fingerprint resistant. Outrageous.

Stretching all boundaries the main differentiator between the two is the inclusion or not of a 2in LCD for image previews. This makes a hefty price differential with the screened DPP-FP55 going for $150 and the screen-less DPP-FP35 costing a bargain $100. Topping off this raw teenage rebellion are running costs quoted at just 29 cents per print. Both models will fill teeny shop shelf spaces from July. Wildness, pure wildness.

Toshiba e-Studio 450s printer

The new Toshiba e-Studio 450s / 500s is completely intuitive, eliminating the need for complicated training and allowing our customers to benefit from the device’s complete offerings right out of the box,” said Kay Fernandez, director, Product and Solutions Marketing, TABS. “While coupling this user-friendly design with outstanding performance, advanced features and affordability, the e-Studio 450s / 500s is a valuable addition to the Toshiba multifunction product line.”

HP Officejets challenge SMB laser printers

Steampunk modder Built LCD computer monitor and keyboard.

Brass dominates this steampunk design and all of 22 inches of the LCD monitor sits on a nice brass frame that is a quarter inch thick. The drilled holes on the frame make it look very nice and retro. The ports for the mic and earphones lie on the LCD monitor’s side and Datamancer has given the entire kit a nice sanding and polishing to give you that shimmering shine.

The frame is solid 1/4-inch brass that has been sanded and polished to a high shine. The base features a mixture of brass and black marble with a small brass “cord catch” to keep the power and data cords tidy.

This particular LCD is going to be seen in an upcoming, modernized, arthaus/indy/slasher remake of the old Nosferatu silent film along with a custom keyboard that has runes on the keys. The film is being made by Red Scream Films LLC. and looks like it’s going to be really cool.

Connect: The all purpose technology

Technology is getting cooler every day. Every new day makes the mobile phones all the more chic and denser when it comes to features and functions. The latest in the league of these lavishly featured devices is the Connect, designed by James Zhang. Connect is a chic and flexible device that’s capable of metamorphosing into various forms depending upon the application you fit it into.

The OLED touch screen technology gels with the E-paper to help this device in transforming from a mobile phone to computer and from multimedia player to watch all this happens not only at the virtual level but also in its physical appearance.

All you need to do is just press a one of the six Mode Keys and you can choose a particular function without getting lost.

If all this was not enough to make Connect a hot property and add to it the applications like the badge and the necklace and you have a device that’s much more than personal productivity, and creates a scene apt enough for physical interaction between individuals. Sounds interesting!!

Alienware Curved Monitor @ CES 2008

Alienware presents a curved DLP display with OLED illumination that is only a concept at present. Word is around that it will hit the market in the midst of 2008. Measuring 2880×900, this giant creation is three feet wide, glitters with LEDs, and conveys an amazing .02ms response time, almost perfect for the gamers.

I am floored by the four practically seamless and sharp screens of DLP integrity. The upright isolating appearance that forms the whole display is barely visible, but they assure to erase the flaw within no time before they could eye consumers. There is no information about pricing but am curious to know one as this would match my alien furniture.
